Grateful Stryker

10.27.07

Grateful Stryker (Lance Taylor) has been playing and writing music for over twenty years.  His influences include Dan Fogelberg, The Grateful Dead, CSNY, YES, James Taylor, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, Carole King and others.

“Music has always been a form of expression for me, a way to express my sadness or happiness”—“My goals have never been to be the best singer or guitar player, instead I choose to let my words in songs create emotion.  I choose songs that I can feel and I hope my performances translate that as well.”

Currently Lance Taylor is discussing his options in recording an album either his originals or covers and soon will be in the studio.

“My shows in second life have been awesome.  It has been a strange trip for sure.  To be at home or on a studio and be able to have a worldwide audience is simply amazing.  There are positives and negatives but overall it has been amazing.”

KaKlick Martin

03.23.08

Bryan Baker (Kaklick Martin) makes some music that can be best described as the honkey tonk meets the metaverse, in the album “Roadhouse Ranch and Saloon” he sprinkles ideas like cybersex, furries and pose balls right along with the sawdust, traditional and futuristic at the same time. He also offers straight ahead rock along with social and political commentary in his album “Big Bad World”. Kaklick took the stage in Second Life for the first time back in late 2005, so he is among SL’s veteran performers and an early evangelist for the live music scene.

Kim Seifert

10.04.07

Kim Seifert is one of Second Life’s most dynamic and entertaining new performers. Cut from a different mold, Kim’s performances bring a full synthesis of music and top quality singing that you will find refreshing, highly energetic, and down right happy-dancing, toe-tapping fun!

Kim primarily sings a high energy style of music that is almost impossible to sit still and listen to. Think Reba McEntire and Gretchen Wilson on the same stage, with a little soul, blues, and jazz thrown in for a full color spectrum.

She’s different, she provides great entertainment, and we promise you… time spent at a Kim Seifert Performance will not be considered time wasted.

To hear more of Kim’s music, check out her website at

Forsythe Whitfield

Forsythe has been playing the blues for ten years, with an emphasis on the slide guitar and ukulele. His sound is rooted in the delta and piedmont style of blues.

Playing both classic blues songs like The Thrill is Gone and original compositions like Walls of Jericho and Freight Train that you can hear on Second Jam, you quickly find this is a man who can sing the word “lonesome” like he means it.

You can learn more about Forsythe at http://www.myspace.com/slbluesman

Coming 8/27 - Resident-To-Resident Tips

08.25.07

Starting Monday, Second Jam will begin airing resident-to-resident tips. There are important things every avatar wishes they had learned earlier in their Second Life. Everything from tips on making money to things to do if your inventory goes missing.

Be sure to listen for these helpful tips, all suggested by fellow SL residents!

Here is an example of an upcoming Resident-To-Resident Tip:

There are two ways you can try out new Second Life features before their release to the full community - with the First Look Viewer and the Beta Grid.

The First Look viewer works on the main grid and is used for testing new features. For example, Voice Chat was available on the First Look Viewer over a month before it was incorporated into the general release. Just remember, this is a prototype version, so you will sometime experience additional bugs.

The other option is the Beta grid. This is not the live grid, so any transactions or items you make will not transfer over to your main avatar. This environment is used to develop new host features. Sculpted prims, for example, were available on the Beta grid well in advance of their general release. Some businesses that offered sculpted prim items the day the feature was introduced, actually worked out the designs on the Beta grid in advance. Best of all, this grid is often open during updates if you are suffering Second Life withdrawals on Wednesday mornings.

Both the beta grid software, and First Look viewers can be downloaded through the Second Life website at www.secondlife.com.

If you have an idea for a resident-to-resident tip, email your idea to, comments at second jam dot com.
